Frank MacLear

Naval architect (University of Michigan, 1943) who worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding and for the US Navy before co-founding MacLear & Harris in New York in 1959, at first as design associates of the brokers Northrop & Johnson at 366 Madison Avenue. The firm drew the Allied Seabreeze 35 and a series of multihulls; MacLear continued as MacLear & Harris Inc. after the partnership ended in 1967 and died at Watch Hill, Rhode Island in 2004.
